03:07am GMT: Thank you for joining us, and the LIVE blog will be back again for WWE Extreme Rules in July! Stay safe.
03:06am GMT: Make sure you go out of your to watch that match for the first time, or even for a second and third time. A true classic.
03:05am GMT: That match was absolutely fantastic. I personally loved every minute of it. Two of the greats right there. Thank you to both men for giving us that match.
03:01am GMT: IT’S OVER. Orton uses The Punt to win! The Punt returns after seven years!
02:52am GMT: We have to agree..
02:48am GMT: How good are these two? Edge looking like he hasn’t been away for a long time at all. Both men putting it all out there.
02:42am GMT: Both men putting absolutely everything on the line here. You know what, it has been fantastic so far.
02:39am GMT: Some words from Gerald Brisco..
02:35am GMT: Three amigos from Randy Orton! This has been a battle of two greats so far.
02:28am GMT: Orton has been busted open. Audience noises and chants are being canned in, not sure what to make of them. Maybe it’s a test for future shows with limited fans? It is receiving a mixed reaction with fans online.
02:20am GMT: Has Edge still got what it takes?
02:15am GMT: This match will have enhanced audio and use of different camera angles. The late Howard Finkel’s voice has just introduced both men using an old MSG microphone coming down from the ceiling. This is very old school. Even the referee in a blue top and bow tie.
02:09am GMT: It’s time for The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever.. Edge vs. Randy Orton.
02:05am GMT: Well that, that was something.
01:54am GMT: We now have shenanigans with The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders. Initially they fought and damaged Strowman’s car in the car park, and then brawl around the Performance Center with different weapons. It’s a cinematic type segment.
01:52am GMT: JOIN WRESTLING TRAVEL ON YOUTUBE!
01:46am GMT: The wife of Bobby Lashley, Lana, is out here, as MVP tells her she needs to go. Lana is knocked off the top of the apron by accidently by Lashley after falling into her from a McIntyre headbutt, and Lashley turns into a McIntyre Claymore Kick to retain the WWE Championship!
01:42am GMT: The power of these two men is scary!
01:38am GMT: McIntyre trying to work his way back into this.
01:35am GMT: Lashley hasn’t given McIntyre a moment here as he dominates the opening few minutes.
01:33am GMT: Lashley jumps McIntyre before the match with a Full Nelson. McIntyre is struggling now, but he wants to go ahead with the match.
01:30amGMT: It’s WWE Championship time. Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley!
01:25am GMT: The new Intercontinental Champion, AJ Styles, is interviewed backstage after his amazing match with Daniel Bryan on SmackDown. Styles says he’s going to have a Championship Presentation this week, and Daniel Bryan is invited.
01:23am GMT: No sign of Otis..
01:22am GMT: Just like that, Strowman retains as The Monster Amongst Men defeats The Miz & Morrison! The Miz cost his partner Morrison winning the match, which could cause some tension between the two down the line!
01:12am GMT: NO, NO, NO. It’s the Miz & Morrison’s music video again. It’s been in my head tonight. STOP STOP STOP HO HO!
01:08am GMT: Braun Strowman vs. John Morrison & The Miz for the Universal Title is next. Will Otis cash in?
01:05am GMT: A double countout, counting both Asuka & Nia Jax out. Asuka retains tonight.
01:02am GMT: Nia hits Asuka with a sit down powerbomb but Asuka kicks out of the pin. Another great intense match here!
01:01am GMT: The fight back from Asuka is on! She has Nia down on the mat!
00:58am GMT: Nia Jax dominating in these opening few minutes.
00:52am GMT: Asuka vs. Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Title is next
00:50am GMT: OTIS IS TEASING A CASH-IN! Backstage, Otis and Mandy tell Miz and Morrison if they beat Braun, they may not be champion for long!
00:47am GMT: A Brogue Kick outside of the ring, and then another inside the ring for Sheamus to pick up the win. Nonetheless, a great match!
00:46am GMT: NO WAY! A Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb on Sheamus, but Sheamus gets his foot on the bottom rope!
00:41am GMT: This match has been great so far. Hardy taking a fall from the top rope, resulting in Sheamus pinning Hardy only for him to kick out!
00:37am GMT: A knee to the face from Sheamus to Jeff Hardy, another brutal looking move. Jeff comeback due any moment now!
00:34am GMT: Sheamus smashes Jeff Hardy’s knee on top of the ringpost. OUCH! Sheamus in full control here, he looks in top form.
00:30am GMT: Huge fan of both of these men in the ring. The story has really elevated the need for this to be an all out war.
00:22am GMT: Next, it’s Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus. This storyline has been controversial by showcasing Hardy’s own personal issues, but for me, the best storylines in wrestling are those that are somewhat based on real life. It works.
00:18am GMT: SASHA & BAYLEY have won once again to retain their Women’s Tag Team Titles, with Sasha stealing the win from Alexa Bliss!
00:14am GMT: A chaotic match so far, plenty to follow!
00:09am GMT: Something is brewing, but when will it all boil over?
00:05am GMT: We kick off with the Triple Threat Women’s Tag Team Title match between; Bayley & Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross & The IIconics!
11:57pm GMT: We’re just moments away from Backlash, it’s nearly time for The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever!
11:53pm GMT: Elev8 Pro owner, and Wrestling Travel’s own, Brittani Nikole has selected Rick Rude vs. Ricky Steamboat in an Ironman Match from WCW Beach Blast 1992!
11:49pm GMT: Head of Content for Wrestling Travel, Joe Baiamonte, selected The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin as his Greatest Wrestling Match Ever, and had an honourable mention for Eddie vs. Rey from Halloween Havoc!
11:45pm GMT: WT founder, Lee McAteer, has said his pick for The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. He chose Bret vs. Owen from WrestleMania 10! Another classic.
11:43pm GMT: Apollo Crews retains his United States Championship on the Pre-Show! So happy to Apollo doing big things on the main roster now!
11:35pm GMT: Ahead of The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever, we asked our Wrestling Travel team which match they think is the greatest match of all time. We have The Lockdown Sessions host Justin Clapper gave us his, Nick Bockwinkel vs. Hennig 1986 from AWA! A classic.
11:32pm GMT: The action kicks off on the WWE Network with the United States Championship, as Apollo Crews defends against Andrade!
11:31pm GMT: That Miz & Morrison song is in my head now..
