Drew McIntyre has defeated Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE Champion, for the first time in his career, which was covered LIVE on our WrestleMania 36 blog.
Brock Lesnar, who was accompanied by his advocate Paul Heyman, dominated the match early on with a number of F5’s, but McIntyre kicked out each time. McIntyre then delivered a succession of Claymore’s to pick up the win.
The 2020 Royal Rumble winner and the Scotland’s own has finally made it to the top of the WWE mountain.
Drew McIntyre becomes the first-ever WWE World Champion to come from the United Kingdom.
It’s been a long journey for McIntyre to make it to the top, after being released from his WWE contract a few years ago.
The man initially dubbed ‘The Chosen One’ by WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, can be proud of his accomplishments and can finally add the WWE Championship to his list of achievements.
